the first time vssls songs arrive together as a body of work

from friendship to filling is not three singles bundled. It is a single arc — finding and entering into divine, friendship, sitting at the feet of the Friend, receiving from him, bringing it all back to him as a vessel ready to be filled.

The title is the thesis, and the release dates have not been decorative. It’s what we have actually been walking, in this order, and the invitation that remains open to all today.

The chorus came one Sunday afternoon when Joel, Luke and their friend Jordan spent the rest of the day together. Joel asked Jordan to summarise what he'd been saying all day — voice memo on — and the line came: Help me to see in the simple things.

It's the John 15 invitation: no longer servants, but friends. No greater love than a Friend who lays down His life for His friends. We released it on Valentine's Eve because that's exactly what Jesus said love looks like.

Since release, the song has reached into places we have never been, and heard by people we have never met. It was featured on LifeFM Adelaide's Behind the Mic. It is the door the EP opens on, and our first song with an evangelistic companion for people who have not yet come to know God and his invitation into friendship — NOGREATERLOVE.live.

released Feb 13, 2026 — Valentine’s Eve

1. Friend to me

If Friend to me is the invitation, Sit At Your Feet is what the invitation makes room for.

Mary at Jesus' feet in Luke 10. The alabaster jar broken open at His feet in Mark 14 and John 12. The cross that made the access possible — "made a way for my seat in your courts." We released it on Good Friday because that is the day the veil was torn.

The chorus melody was carried for years. The breakthrough came on a dog walk, with the hum of a plane overhead and one new line. The bridge was an honest posture that we needed to come into, and the line that became the song's centre — "help me to choose the better thing" — landed almost by accident, and we realised we'd written a prayer we hadn't known we needed to pray.

Presence over performance. Not the busy thing. The better thing.

2. Sit At Your Feet

There comes a moment where you’ve decided to take up the friendship he offers, to sit and stay at his feet, and the realisation comes that the only appropriate response is to bring all of your life back to him — to be set apart and fully surrendered regardless of the cost it requires.

We were driving up the South Eastern Freeway on 19 August 2025, worshipping our way through other artists' songs, when Joel just started singing to you I bring, to you I bring. By the time we reached Luke's driveway, the chorus, bridge and reprise were complete. The song was started and finished entirely in the car.

A month before that, Joel had been given a vision at a leadership summit: soil and seed held in an open hand, shoots pushing through as drizzles of rain fell, accelerating fruitfulness as all is offered up to God. That picture became the cover art of the single.

3. All My Life (To You I Bring)

“I know what you started, you’ll bring to completion.”

Depicted image of Luke, with a compass in hand, sitting next to Jesus, having ascended a wooden ladder from earth. Oil flows from Jesus to Luke as he sits with him. The cover art of vssls' debut EP: from friendship to filling.

the cover

The from friendship to filling EP's cover picks up on a prophetic word spoken over Luke at the same location, eight months after the original All My Life (To You I Bring) vision: God giving him a compass, pointing him to His True North. A call to not be pulled in all directions, and to not settle in insignificance, but to go to a place God would show him.

Unknown to the preacher, and only realised on the week of release, All My Life (To You I Bring) already contained the line: "You're leading the way, Your word's my compass."

The cover also weaves together Jacob's ladder at Bethel, Matthew 25, and Revelation 4:1 — open heavens, being filled up with oil, and coming up to sit with Jesus who longs to reveal.

God has been weaving the tapestry all along — which is, after all, what the bridge says: "My life your masterpiece, come weave your tapestry."
