Two years, to the day — and it’s just the beginning

On 16 March 2024, at a statewide conference, someone we'd never met prayed over the two of us together — before we'd written a single song, before the word vssls existed in our minds. Rivers of living water coming at you. Living water. Anointing. Worship. Partnership. Restoration from what the enemy is trying to do and steal. Destruction to the enemy’s camp.

A lot of it landed. Some of it felt strange — Luke was in Year 12, Joel was his youth leader. Partnership?

We didn't throw it away. But we didn't know what to do with it either. So it kind of just went on a shelf. We almost forgot about it, until Luke brought it up somewhere in December/January.

On 16 March 2026, LifeFM played Friend to me on the radio for the first time. Rachael Leahcar put it this way: it really feels less like a performance and more like a prayer — because when you stop and think about it, Jesus doesn’t just save us or lead us. He actually invites us into friendship with him.

It wasn't until afterward that we looked at the date. 16 March 2024. 16 March 2026. Exactly two years. To the day.

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever. — Isaiah 40:8

“You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.” | “You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.” — Jeremiah 1:12 NKJV, NIV

If you're holding a word right now that doesn't make sense yet — one you've half-shelved because you can't see how it could ever be true — save this. Sometimes the meaning arrives later. Right on time.
