peace for tomorrow

This song started in a car.

Not the writing. Not the melody.

A conversation about the ordinary weight a young person carries — uni stress, the noise of tomorrow — and the conversation centered on Philippians 4:6-7, and then it became a song called peace for tomorrow."

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

— Philippians 4:6-7

peace for tomorrow is for the version of you lying awake. For a generation with more ways to be reached than any before it, and more reasons to feel alone. The anxiety is real. The stress is real. The escalating thoughts are real.

We're not going to pretend it isn't. But there's a peace on offer that isn't the absence of hard things. A peace that guards you when you can't guard yourself.

It's the presence of the Prince of Peace in the middle of them, as you decide it’s true for you to sing “My life your vessel”, and invite the Prince of Peace into your boat.

But it’s also true for the moments when you have nothing to step out on, apart from a word from God. And that is also the prayer of peace for tomorrow, and the promise from the Prince of Peace.

If that's the thing you've been searching for and couldn't name — this prayer is for you.

nogreater.live/peace is the place to delve deeper and share this Peace with those who need him.
